A Word In Your Ear

If you use a computer, you probably use Microsoft Word as your wordprocessor. It is also likely you use only a small part of its functions. This tutorial will not only demonstrate how to type your document and improve its layout but will also introduce many of the advanced facilities. These include tables, templates, auto-correct, envelopes and bulleted lists.

The 6 tapes are intended for blind users and use shortcut keys instead of the mouse and 3 screen readers are demonstrated (Hal95, JAWS for Windows and Window-Eyes). The tutorial may also be suitable for sighted users.

A floppy disc which has sample documents is provided to give an opportunity to practice topics learned. Each tape has a contents list at the start of Side one listing the areas covered by that cassette.

Note: The tutorial assumes you are using Word 8 (Office 97). Earlier versions of Word (Word6) may have slightly different key strokes.
